Authenticated code execution via stack buffer overflow
Published May 22, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Dataprobe iBoot-PDU firmware before 1.42.06162022 allows remote authenticated users to crash it or execute code. Public advisories do not identify the affected service, function, input field, or unsafe copy operation that overruns the stack buffer. Network access and low-privileged authentication are required; exploitation interrupts power-management availability or executes code on the appliance.
