CVE-2022-4665Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated dangerous-file upload via unchecked artwork extension

Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 9, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in Ampache before 5.5.6 allows remote authenticated users to place dangerous files through artwork handling. Artwork upload handling accepts a supplied filename extension without restricting it to the image types centralized in Art::VALID_TYPES. A low-privileged account and additional conditions are required, and public sources do not explain how the uploaded file produces confidentiality loss.
