Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped bordercolor shortcode attribute
Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored XSS in LogicHunt Logo Slider WP before 3.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through a crafted shortcode attribute. The shortcode renderer writes bordercolor into an HTML attribute without validation or escaping, allowing a quote to terminate the color value and add an event handler. Contributor-level publishing access and a visitor moving the pointer over the rendered slider are required; injected JavaScript then runs in the visitor's browser context.
