Device takeover via unchecked WPS PIN handling
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Stack overflow in TRENDnet TEW-755AP firmware 1.13B01 allows remote attackers to take over the device through a crafted WPS PIN. The action set_sta_enrollee_pin_24g handler accepts an oversized wps_sta_enrollee_pin parameter and overflows a stack buffer. The network attack requires no privileges or user interaction, and successful exploitation grants access to the device operating system.
