Unauthenticated memory corruption via oversized MAC-list parameter
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Stack overflow in TRENDnet TEW-755AP firmware 1.13B01 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted MAC-list parameter. The kick_ban_wifi_mac_deny function accepts the qcawifi.wifi%d_vap%d.maclist value without a size check, allowing it to overrun a stack buffer. The management service must be network-reachable, but authentication and user interaction are not required; public evidence does not establish reliable code execution.
