Remote takeover via nslookup stack overflow
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Stack overflow in TRENDnet TEW755AP 1.13B01 allows remote attackers to take over the device via the tools_nslookup interface. The tools_nslookup function processes the cameo.cameo.nslookup_target parameter with a stack buffer whose bounds are exceeded by crafted input. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability by taking control of the access point.
