Remote service interruption via unbounded time parsing
Published Dec 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda F1203 firmware 2.0.1.6 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted time parameter. The saveParentControlInfo handler uses sscanf with unbounded %[^-] and %s conversions to write the supplied value into two 32-byte stack buffers. The published request includes an admin cookie, while the authoritative CVSS assessment requires no privileges; the demonstrated consequence is denial of service.
