Service interruption via oversized SSID parameter
Published Dec 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda F1203 firmware 2.0.1.6 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted Wi-Fi settings request. The httpd handler for /goform/fast_setting_wifi_set accepts an oversized ssid value without enforcing the destination buffer bounds. Published scoring treats the request as unauthenticated; the public example includes an administrative cookie and demonstrates denial of service only.
