Service interruption via oversized deviceMac input
Published Dec 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda F1203 2.0.1.6 allows remote attackers to interrupt the HTTP service via a crafted deviceMac value. The httpd handler for /goform/addWifiMacFilter fails to bound deviceMac input, allowing an oversized value to overrun a buffer. The published proof of concept sends a network POST request with an administrator cookie and demonstrates denial of service, while the CVSS assessment rates privileges as unnecessary.
