Credential theft via incomplete TLS certificate validation
Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Improper certificate validation in BTicino Door Entry for HOMETOUCH before 1.5.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to steal credentials. The app accepts an incompletely validated TLS certificate when connecting to www.myhomeweb.com, exposing user and SPI credentials. A man-in-the-middle position is required; public records conflict on whether the vulnerable client is iOS, Android, or both.
