Survey password disclosure via unauthenticated API response
Published Aug 2, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Information disclosure in Data Illusion NGSurvey 2.4.28 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain protected-survey passwords. The unauthenticated /api/ngsurveys/{survey-id} endpoint returns the survey object's accessPassword value in its JSON response instead of withholding it. Possession of a survey URL is sufficient to recover the password and access or submit arbitrary responses to that survey.
