Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode id attribute
Published Jan 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 7, 2025
Stored XSS in ShapedPlugin LLC Real Testimonials before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in administrators' browsers. The sp_testimonial shortcode places its id attribute into page output without validation or contextual escaping, allowing a quoted onload handler to persist in rendered content. A contributor account can store the payload, and execution requires a higher-privileged user to view the affected page.
