Shell escape in Veritas NetBackup Flex Scale 3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute privileged commands. The restricted shell fails to confine a non-privileged account, but Veritas has not disclosed the escape sequence or faulty command handling. Network access with low-privileged credentials is required; successful exploitation crosses the shell boundary and permits commands with elevated authority.
