Administrative takeover via exposed cluster token
Published Dec 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Incorrect access control in affected RackN Digital Rebar releases allows remote attackers to obtain full administrative access. The High Availability implementation embeds a temporary cluster-authentication token in cluster details returned by the API to any authenticated user, including a provisioned machine. An unauthenticated attacker can create a limited-privilege machine token, retrieve the cluster token, and use its privileges to control the Digital Rebar system.
