CVE-2022-4638Network attack vector

Browser script execution via unescaped contact title

Published Dec 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Collective collective.contact.widget 1.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute browser script through a contact title. The term-contact viewlet's title method returns the context title to a hidden field used for dynamic JavaScript generation without escaping special characters. Exploitation requires attacker control of a contact title and a user to render the affected viewlet, placing the resulting script in that user's browser context.
