Account takeover via unchecked password-update username
Published May 1, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Improper input validation in Apache StreamPark 1.0.0 before 2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to reset any account's password. The password-update endpoint passes a caller-supplied username to the service, which updates the matching account without verifying ownership or the old password. Any valid application login is sufficient to replace another user's credentials, enabling account takeover and denying the victim access.
