Code execution via X_B structure over-read
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Parasolid and Solid Edge allows attackers to execute code when a user opens a crafted X_B file. Their X_B parsers read past the end of an allocated structure while processing malformed file data. Exploitation requires local user interaction to open the file, and successful code runs with the privileges of the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
