Code execution via X_B structure overwrite
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Solid Edge and Parasolid allows attackers to execute code when a user opens a crafted X_B file. The X_B parser writes past the end of an allocated structure while processing attacker-controlled file data. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs code with the privileges of the affected process; the same corruption can crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
