Code execution via oversized DPB file fields
Published Feb 2, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Delta Electronics CNCSoft before 1.01.34 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted DPB file. The DPB parser copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs in the current application process.
