Stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Dec 21, 2022 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Stored XSS in Ali Irani Auto Upload Images 3.0 through 3.3 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The settings handler stores raw POSTed option values, and setting-page.php emits them into HTML attributes and a textarea without context-appropriate escaping. A logged-in user must save crafted plugin settings and another user must load the settings page, where the stored script executes with that viewer's browser privileges.
