Application deletion via insufficient permission verification
Published Dec 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Improper authorization in Huawei HarmonyOS and EMUI allows remote attackers to clear device applications through app management. The app management module performs insufficient permission verification before accepting an operation, so an unauthorized request triggers abnormal application removal. Huawei has not published the request or API involved; the bounded consequence is deletion of device applications rather than code execution or data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
