Information disclosure via WebRemote.XML external entity expansion
Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
XXE in VBASE-Editor before 11.7.5 allows remote attackers to disclose local data when a user opens a crafted WebRemote.XML file. The WebRemote.XML parser follows an external entity URI supplied by the document and embeds the retrieved contents back into the XML for processing. The target must open the malicious file or visit a malicious page, and disclosure is limited to information accessible to the VBASE-Editor process.
