CVE-2022-46174Network attack vector

Mount failure or misdirection via port-selection race

Published Dec 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 11, 2025

Race condition in Amazon EFS Utilities 1.34.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to fail or misdirect TLS mounts. The mount helper releases its temporary port reservation before stunnel binds, so parallel mount processes can select the same local port without consulting shared state. Exploitation requires concurrent TLS-enabled mounts and can cause a mount failure or map a local mount point to the wrong EFS file system.
