CVE-2022-46162Public exploitNetwork attack vector

CSS injection via unrestricted font-family value

Published Nov 30, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

CSS injection in Discourse BBCode before commit 91478f5 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary styles through crafted posts. The bbcode.js style allowlist accepts every character after font-family and emits the value into a rendered span style. Exploitation requires the plugin to be installed and enabled plus permission to submit BBCode; injected styles can alter content shown to forum users.
