CVE-2022-46147Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized XBlock fields

Published Nov 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Stored XSS in Drag and Drop XBlock v2 before 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. Multiple display names, question text, item and zone labels, explanations, feedback messages, and Studio preview fields reach rendered output without HTML sanitization or escaping. A course author must save crafted markup and another user must render the affected content, allowing script to act within that user's Open edX session.
