Unauthenticated credential disclosure via extension provisioning
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Authentication bypass in Click Studios Passwordstate Browser Extension allows remote attackers to read credentials through browser-extension provisioning requests. The Browser Extension Provisioning component performs an incorrect authorization check, but public records do not disclose the exact request handler or operation. Exploitation requires a remote attacker to induce user interaction with the extension; reported impact is credential confidentiality loss without integrity or availability effects.
