Database compromise via unneutralized category identifier
Published Dec 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
SQL injection in Helmet Store Showroom Site 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database data through the id parameter. The manage_category.php handler incorporates the untrusted identifier into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, as demonstrated by a UNION request that returns the database name. Access requires a Super Admin session; successful injection exposes application data to disclosure or modification and can disrupt database-backed operations.
