Database disclosure via unneutralized category parameter
Published Dec 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
SQL injection in Helmet Store Showroom Site 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read the database name through a category request. The categories route passes the c query parameter to a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing a UNION SELECT payload to return the active database name. The published proof of concept uses an administrator session, bounding the demonstrated consequence to database-name disclosure with high privileges.
