Administrative command execution via ping input
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
OS command injection in Tenda W20E firmware 16.01.0.6(3392) allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the ping feature. The cmd_get_ping_output function fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in ping input before invoking an operating-system command; the public disclosure does not identify the parameter or endpoint. Administrative access is required, and successful exploitation permits full control of the router.
