Authenticated command injection via MAC filter handler
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Command injection in Tenda AX12 V22.03.01.21_CN allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via /goform/setMacFilterCfg. The handler passes the macFilterType parameter into doSystemCmd while constructing /tmp/macfilter output, allowing shell metacharacters to alter executed commands. Authentication to the router management interface is required; successful exploitation can execute commands that change configuration, reboot, or reset the device.
