Authenticated upload bypass via missing password check
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Improper authorization in Alist v3.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to upload files into password-protected folders. The upload middleware accepts File-Path and Password headers but the vulnerable release does not verify the folder password before permitting uploads when a user has file-upload permission. An authenticated user with upload permission can place arbitrary files in any folder, including password-protected locations, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of stored content.
