CVE-2022-45924Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file deletion via DefinitionFile parameter

Published Jan 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 4, 2025

Arbitrary file deletion in OpenText Extended ECM Content Server 20.4 through 22.3 allows remote authenticated users to delete server files. The itemtemplate.createtemplate2 endpoint treats the DefinitionFile request parameter as a server-local path and deletes the named file without restricting it to an authorized location. A low-privilege account must first create a Customer View Template to obtain a valid cacheID; successful requests can remove any filesystem object accessible to the Content Server process.
