CVE-2022-45923Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Pre-authentication code execution via forged vftable object

Published Jan 18, 2023 · Updated Apr 4, 2025

Deserialization in OpenText Extended ECM 20.4 through 22.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the Content Server CGI. cs.exe deserializes attacker-controlled _fInArgs data when _ApiName is set, and obj_ref_cracker returns a base-class object whose class_ptr drives arbitrary memory changes and a forged vftable call. A session-free POST to the CGI endpoint reaches the flaw, and non-ASLR DLLs make the controlled call usable for server-side code execution.
