Unauthenticated root command execution via search pattern
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
OS command injection in Nokia Broadcast Message Center before 13.1 allows remote attackers to execute operating system commands as root. The Log Scanner web application passes the Search Pattern field to a shell without neutralizing metacharacters, so separators introduce attacker-selected Linux commands. The interface accepts the payload without authentication, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution on the BMC host.
