Local file disclosure via ProjektInfo.XML entity expansion
Published Apr 26, 2023 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
XML external entity injection in VISAM VBASE before 11.7.5 allows remote attackers to read local data through a crafted project file. VBASE-Editor parses ProjektInfo.XML without restricting external entity references, causing an attacker-selected URI to be accessed and its contents embedded for further processing. Exploitation requires a valid user to open the file, and disclosure is limited to data accessible to the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
