Console password disclosure via cleartext process argument
Published Nov 23, 2022 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Cleartext password exposure in H2 Database Engine before 2.2.220 allows local users to read the web console password from process arguments. The web console launcher accepts -webAdminPassword as a literal password and places that secret in the command line, where process listings expose it. Exploitation requires local access and a console started with that option; the vendor disputes the classification, and the bounded impact is disclosure of the console password.
