Database disclosure via injectable shortcode ordering
Published Jan 24, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
SQL injection in LearnPress 4.1.7.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read database data through course shortcodes. The learn_press_recent_courses and learn_press_featured_courses handlers interpolate attacker-controlled order fields into SQL ORDER BY clauses without allowlisting or sufficient query preparation. A WordPress account with Contributor privileges can place a crafted shortcode in a draft post, permitting appended SQL that extracts sensitive database information.
