Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Feb 13, 2023 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Stored XSS in Twenty20 Image Before-After 1.5.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The twenty20 shortcode outputs user-controlled offset, width, before, and after attributes into page markup or initialization code without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to save a crafted shortcode, and the injected script executes when a visitor opens the affected page or post.
