CVE-2022-45796Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root command execution via IPv6 field injection

Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025

Command injection in nw_interface.html on affected SHARP MFP firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The ggt_textbox(16) IPv6 field accepts shell metacharacters that are incorporated into a ping6 shell command without neutralization. Administrative access to the printer's network interface is required, and successful exploitation executes commands as root.
