Protected-memory overwrite via unrestricted password attempts

Authentication brute force in OMRON CJ-series and CS-series CPU Modules allows remote attackers to access protected memory over FINS. The FINS memory-protection feature fails to restrict repeated password attempts, allowing an attacker to unprotect memory regions and read or overwrite stored values, including programmed logic. Network access to the controller's FINS service is sufficient; exploitation does not require prior authentication or user interaction.
