Authenticated code execution via unsafe ZIP extraction
Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Path traversal in the dotCMS integrity API in core 4.x through 22.10.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The _fixconflictsfromremote endpoint extracts attacker-supplied ZIP entries without rejecting traversal sequences, allowing files to escape the intended directory. Administrator privileges are required, and a crafted archive can place executable content at an arbitrary server path for execution under the dotCMS process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
