Account takeover via predictable password-reset tokens

Weak token generation in dotCMS core 5.3.8.5 through 5.3.8.15 and 21.03 through 22.10.1 allows remote attackers to take over accounts. The password-reset workflow uses a cryptographically insecure pseudorandom algorithm to generate tokens, making issued reset tokens predictable. Exploitation requires user interaction, but the published advisory does not describe that step; a predicted token permits the targeted account's password to be reset.
