CVE-2022-45768Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unfiltered ateFunc parameter

Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025

Command injection in Edimax BR-6428nS V3 firmware 1.20 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via HTTP. The formWlanMP handler in the webs binary passes the unfiltered ateFunc POST value directly to the system function, allowing shell metacharacters to inject commands. Basic authentication is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-chosen commands on the router under the web service's privileges.
