Browser script execution via stored homepage description
Published Feb 8, 2023 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in EyouCMS 1.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through the home page description. The basic information page accepts a crafted description containing a closing quote and script tag, stores it, and later renders it without effective neutralization. An authenticated backend user must save the payload, and execution requires another user to open the EyouCMS client, exposing that user's browser session to script-controlled reads and actions.
