Unauthenticated device compromise via unchecked rules copy
Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Buffer overflow in formIPMacBindAdd in IP-COM M50 firmware 15.11.0.33(10768) allows remote attackers to compromise the device via rules input. The handler copies the rules parameter into a fixed-size destination without enforcing the destination's capacity. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the public record does not distinguish code execution from a crash or other memory-corruption effects.
