Improper access control in OpenEMR before 7.0.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read or upload restricted patient documents. Document retrieval and upload paths omit user, patient, and category authorization checks before returning or storing files. A low-privileged account can cross document-category boundaries, exposing records or adding files outside its assigned access.
