Service interruption via unchecked timeZone buffer copy
Published Dec 2, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda AC6 V1.0 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to interrupt router service via a crafted timeZone value. The httpd form_fast_setting_wifi_set handler copies the oversized timeZone parameter into a fixed-size buffer without checking its length. Network access is sufficient and no user interaction is required; the demonstrated consequence is limited to service interruption, with no published confidentiality or integrity impact.
