Denial of service via unrestricted ZIP expansion
Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in Dromara Hutool 5.8.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to exhaust storage via a crafted ZIP archive. ZipUtil overloads pass a negative extraction limit, while the limited path trusts forgeable ZIP entry sizes instead of counting expanded bytes. Exploitation requires an embedding application to pass attacker-controlled archives to ZipUtil; successful extraction can fill available storage and interrupt service.
