Service crash via unchecked security parameter copy
Published Dec 1, 2022 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Stack buffer overflow in Tenda AC6 v1.0 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted POST request. The /goform/WifiBasicSet handler passes the security parameter to strcpy without checking its length, overflowing a stack-local buffer and overwriting the return address. No credentials or user interaction are required; the demonstrated consequence is a denial-of-service crash rather than code execution.
