Account compromise via unrestricted online password guessing
Published Mar 21, 2023 · Updated Feb 26, 2025
Password-policy weakness in MEGAFEIS BOFEI DBD+ iOS 1.4.3 and Android 1.4.4 allows remote attackers to compromise accounts via online guessing. The API server accepts passwords as short as four characters without requiring special characters, numbers, or uppercase letters and applies no apparent rate limit to repeated login attempts. An attacker needs a target account name and a matching wordlist entry; successful guessing exposes the account and control of every smart lock connected to it.
